Reviews
Great publicity for JAXA, the open house. Very little English information.
A state of the art research institute for space exploration close to Tokyo!!
I went on the public opening day. I think it happens several times a year.
It is an impressive place with a large rocket in the middle of nature.
You can enjoy it all day if you go to see it together with the citizen's museum next door.
Although some corners were canceled due to the coronavirus, the exhibits related to various rockets and space exploration were very interesting.
There was also a life-sized rocket, which was very impressive.
There is also a stamp rally, which you can enjoy.
There is a shop a short walk from the exhibition room, and although the prices are a bit high, there were many attractive goods! ️
Parking is also free, which I appreciate.
Very good.
JAXA's research facility in Sagamihara.
There are only a few parking spaces available for visitors, so we recommend arriving by public transportation.
There are coin parking lots nearby, so you might be able to get by even if it's full...
The tour facility exhibits the history of rocket development, scientific observation satellites, models, and real objects, including the M-V-2's fairing and the second and third rockets stored there.
I was overwhelmed by its size and texture.
There are also interpreter-led tours of some of the observation and research buildings, so it's fun to take part.
The cafeteria and co-op are closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, so goods were only sold through vending machines, but the popular freeze-dried food was available.
If you want something else, you have no choice but to ask on weekdays.
I want to have time to think about the universe.
Such a person is a good facility.
I would like to ask you again.
The Space Science Exploration Exchange Building on the Sagamihara Campus can be viewed free of charge, and displays rockets, artificial satellites, probes, and various models, panels, and videos related to space. Samples brought back from Itokawa and Ryugu. Photography was not allowed in the exhibit about the Peregrine Falcon and Peregrine Falcon 2, but it is very impressive and you can even feel the weight of the Peregrine Falcon's recovery capsule. In addition, there are plenty of contents that can be enjoyed by children and adults. The contents of the screening will change depending on the time. There are many souvenirs related to space and JAXA at the shop, and I bought a small meteorite grain here. You can also buy souvenirs from vending machines that are only available here. There were 3 kitchen cars in the parking lot, and the parking lot is also free.
Participate in a special exhibition. Although it was crowded with many people, there were various events and it was well organized and I enjoyed it.
You can also get various special goods.
The exhibition room, which is open to the public at all times, is also worth seeing, and there are plenty of things to see even on ordinary days, not just special openings.
The atmosphere is similar to Tsukuba, but the site seems a little smaller. But it's spacious.
